Why choose a Licensed Conveyancer

A Licensed Conveyancer is a legal specialist in property transactions.

In 1992 Licensed Conveyancers in NSW were qualified by a special Act of Parliament (Conveyancers Licensing Act 1992) to do the legal work associated with conveyancing transactions, i.e. conveyancing work. Prior to 1992 only solicitors were qualified to do this work.

Conveyancing work includes the sale or lease of land (all types with or without buildings) and mortgages or other charges over land and the sale of a business. In NSW a Licensed Conveyancer is qualified to undertake all types of conveyancing work.

To obtain a Licence, a conveyancer must complete a recognised course of education, have the required conveyancing experience and hold professional indemnity insurance. Conveyancers are also required to keep their knowledge up to date through a continuing education program.

Conveyancers do not undertake court work so they are usually more available to their clients. Obviously, as they only deal in property matters, they develop comprehensive knowledge and experience in this area.

Licensed Conveyancers are your property conveyancing professionals.
